Recent Academic Exchanges conducted in the group of Dr. Delong Liu, New York, NY.

Dr. Liu is a guest professor of FJMU. Below is his presentation to AAFMUA on Thu, 9 Feb 2006.

It is my pleasure to report to the AAFMUA about my involvement as a guest professor:

    1.     Dr. Xudong Ma successfully completed one and a half year training in my lab and in my leukemia service. She published one first-author, peer-reviewed paper, and an abstract at American Society of Hematology annual meeting. A second-author paper is submitted for review. She has returned to her Zhangzhou Municipal hospital and assumed greater responsibility. She is also currently mentoring grad students at FJMU

    2.     Dr. Lulu Lu is a PhD student from FJMU currently working in my lab. She is completing her one year research and returning to FJMU soon for PhD defense. She submitted one first-author paper lately. She also published one first-author paper (in press) and co-authored two other papers (one published, one submitted). She also received a fellowship support from AAFMUA donated by Cantigny foundation. She is also a good leukemia doctor from FJMU Institute of Hematology. She has been receiving clinical training in my Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplantation services.

    3.     I have just accepted another physician (director of Hematology) from Xiamen to join me for lab and clinical training.

    4.     I have one more opening and am screening candidates. Candidates with following resume are being sought: graduate degree, familiar with lab research /molecular biology, also a clinical doctor experienced in patient care. Clinical professor and /or directors are preferred. Full salary with benefits is provided. Those with partial support from China will be given priority.

On November 14, 2006, the first award ceremony for the Shen Yun Ying Scholarship was held in Fujian Medical University, China.

The Scholarship is a charity project run and distributed by the Education Foundation of AAFMUA. Representatives of the Foundation attended the ceremony. Below is the press release about the ceremony published by the university in Chinese.
