1月

1月1日，校友阮克和博士，母校基础医学院生物化学与分子生物学系兼职副主任回校就该系的学科建设、科研及人才培养工作进行交流和指导。校领导及基础医学院的领导接待了阮博士。

1月3日，母校基础医学院生物化学与分子生物学系副教授章涛博士应邀赴美国乔治城大学医学中心肿瘤学系Lombardi癌症中心实验室进行肿瘤学方面的博士后研究，为期一年。

1月8日，母校基础医学院生理学与病理生理学系林墨君副教授应邀赴美国约翰霍普金斯医学研究所从事题为心肌细胞的兴奋收缩偶联机制的博士后研究，为期一年。

1月8日，校友、现在美国国立卫生研究院（NIH）任职的林静平博士回校访问，校领导陈扬义、陈丽英、张鹏飞、罗萤等会见了林博士。林博士参观了校园及公共卫生学院，并做了一场题为“类风湿性关节炎的遗传流行病研究-在Pima印第安人中的家谱结构”的学术讲座。

2月份，母校附属第一医院神经内科王柠教授应美国哥伦比亚大学内外科学院严世都教授的邀请，赴该大学进行有关“神经系统变性和痴呆”的分子机制的博士后课题研究，为期一年。

3月

3月20日-22日，校友、美国加州大学洛杉矶分校医学院临床免疫学部助理教授、受聘为福建省临床免疫研究所副所长的张克博士回母校访问交流，并做了一场题为“免疫球蛋白类别转换机理”的学术讲座。陈丽英校长会见了张克博士。

7月12日，校友、美国Medarex公司首席科学家何立珍女士回母校访问。校领导陈丽英、陈元仲会见了何女士。何立珍女士参观了血液研究所，并作了一场题为“遗传工程鼠的构造和应用”的学术讲座。

福建医科大学65华诞，庆典热烈隆重。从五洲四海返校参加校庆的校友者众。美国校友会会长李统铨博士等一行十多人专程回国参加盛会。校庆期间旅美校友出席了《福建医科大学生命科学新进展学术报告会》等学术交流活动，并作学术报告。李统铨还作为校友代表在庆祝大会上致词。有关图片...

Dr. Zheng-Bo Huang, Vice President of the AAFMUA, visited the Fuzhou Union Hospital on December 27, 2002. He was invited by Dr. Xiao-Chun Chen, Vice President of the Hospital and the Director of the Geriatric Research Institute of the Fujian Province.

During the visit, Dr. Huang joined the morning round with staff physicians in the Geriatric Ward and discussed a difficult and complicated geriatric case with the staff. He then gave two lectures, "An Update of Osteoporosis" and "Advance in the Theory, Diagnosis, and Treatment of Congestive Heart Failure in Older Patients". His clinical round and lectures were very informative and highly appreciated by the colleagues in the fields of Geriatrics, Endocrinology, and Cardiology of the Union Hospital.

During his short visit, Dr. Yuan-Zhong Chen, the President of the FMU, Dr. Xiao-Nan Wu, the Director of the Foreign Affairs of the FMU, and Dr. Ruixiang Zhou, the Director of the Department of Postgraduate of the FMU met him respectively.

Dr. Huang currently is one of the oversea Visiting Professors of the FMU. He specializes in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He holds the positions of Assistant Professor of Medicine of the New York Medical College, Attending Physician in the Department of Medicine, Director of Geriatric Consultation, Director of Medical Education and Research in the Unit of Acute Care for the Elderly at the St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center at Manhattan, NY.
