Dear
Friends of AAFMUA: We
wish you all a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year. Time
flies. Two years have gone by since we elected our second term of AAFMUA. It
is that time again we ask endorsement of our enthusiastic alumni to lead and
help our organization and FMU. In
the past two terms we elected multiple individuals simultaneously to serve as
President, Vice President, and Secretary-General. It has been determined that
the election procedure will be simplified to electing a single individual for
president, who in-turn, will then organize a cabinet of 3 to 5 alumni to
assist with functions such as Vice President and Secretary-General. This
procedure appears more practical and efficient and was discussed within
current and past serving alumni and an amendment to the by-law (first
amendment) was unanimously passed yesterday. The first amendment was
finalized as below: First
Amendment To the By-law of AAFMUA, January 29th, 2004. Article V, section 1,
President of AAFMUA is nominated by members of the organization and
determined by its working committee through a voting process. Elected
President appoints 2 to 5 members for various functions such as Vice
President and Secretary-General. The President may be re-elected and serve
repeatedly. So
we ask you to nominate just one individual you feel best suit for serving as
president of AAFMUA for the third term. We will gather your nomination and
have the current AAFMUA working committee vote to determine that individual
for the third term president of AAFMUA. The deadline for this nomination will
be midnight Eastern time February 12th 2004. Please nominate one alumnus by
replying to this email. Thanks
to every one for your support and enthusiasm. Look forward to hearing from
you all soon. Minggui
