Shoushan Stone of Fuzhou
Dr. WANG Ying (graduate of 1983) contributes to this section of the Alumni Gardens with her own artwork

With the abdication of the last emperor of Qing Dynasty Puyi, many precious treasures lost, remaining only the "Tianhuang Seal with three chains" (Tianhuang is the supreme sort among the Shoushan Stones, as a saying goes, "It is easier to get ten thousand liang gold than but one Tianhuang stone.) The Seal with three chains is now becoming one of the National First-class cultural relics and is collected by the Palace Museum in Beijing. The stone carving was also sent to the Japanese Prime minister Zhongzenggenkanhong and Hungarian President Gents as the precious national present. At present, in the mainland of China together with HongKong, TaiWang and Macao, there are many fans of Shoushan Stone. Every year, numerous Fairs for the stone are held both home and abroad.
