Dear AAFMUA Members and Friends,

We were deeply saddened by the news that a strong earthquake hit our motherland, China. At 14:28, May 12, 2008, an 8.0 Richter scale earthquake struck Sichuan Province. The death toll from this powerful earthquake rose to 32,477 nationwide as of 2 p.m. Sunday, 18 May 2008, while the number of injured reached 220,109, according to the emergency response office under the State Council. As we are mourning the death toll is raising.

The tragedy is relentless. We, graduates of Fujian Medical University that currently reside in America, would like to do something to help our brothers and sisters in the affected area. Therefore, AAFMUA has set up a China Earthquake Fund and asks for your support to the disaster relief effort. You can make your donation to the fund by sending a check payable to: AAFMUA (on the Memo line, indicate: Earthquake Fund).
